“The privilege to teach in Lutheran schools over many years and be part of Crossways is a God-given responsibility. This is a place for all of us to learn and explore. Not just to unlock our academic potential but also our potential as people who can contribute to the betterment of our community. We can attempt this on our own but we have an advocate, a loving heavenly father who has promised the best for us, and wants us to give our best. I look forward to being part of the journey he is taking us on.”

“Crossways is a school where the teachers care for each and every student, it’s a place where anyone can get a fresh start, it’s a school that communicates with Parents and Caregivers regularly and ensures all students are attempting all tasks and working to their personal best.
Crossways is a Christ-centred school with values everything educational and strives to keep up-to-date with the latest curriculum and keeping its staff educated, not only through professional developments on campus but also off.”

“I believe every child is a unique creation of God. Each one has their own special talents, and way of looking at the world. Our role is to help them develop a love for learning, to discover their talents, and to use them for their own benefit and the benefit of others”

“I have been blessed with the opportunity to teach Year Ones at Crossways Lutheran School this year.
I grew up in Lobethal in the Adelaide Hills with my family. I have always been a part of Lutheran Education having attended Lutheran schools. I have also been heavily involved with my home church in Lobethal which has continued to grow my passion for Christ. Besides my love for teaching my other interests include netball and music. I am excited to see how I can be involved in the community of Ceduna and look forward to the year ahead!”

“Relationships are a key part of teaching and learning. My aim as a teacher is to provide students with
a safe place to learn. I strive to give students lessons that are fun, meaningful and engaging, pushing them to learn and grow. It is a privilege to be part of shaping children’s lives and inspiring them to do their very best each day.”

“This year I have been blessed to be the Year One teacher at Crossways Lutheran School. I believe students learn best when they have positive influences and relationships in their lives. As such, I strive to create a sense of belonging for each student, where they feel safe and valued. I aim to teach through meaningful and value-based learning opportunities, where students construct their own knowledge, developing on from already acquired knowledge. I look forward to seeing my students grow, develop and reach their goals this year.”

“I am so very thankful to have been welcomed into the Crossways family in mid 2017 and to continue my journey with them in 2018.
Children are amazing beings of wonder and excitement and I am so very privileged to work with them everyday in a place that fosters such dispositions for learning. Seeing the excitement and pride students display when they grasp a new concept or are simply enjoying a leaning activity, is what pushes me to continue to provide fun and educational learning programs for my students.
Having worked in the Middle School and now Junior School, I have been able to form strong relationships with the staff and students of Crossways. Forming relationships within the school community is a high priority for me and I am always working towards strengthening existing relationships and building new ones. I am looking forward to my future here in Ceduna and with Crossways Lutheran School.”

“Teaching has always been a passion of mine and I am grateful to all the staff, students and people at the school for giving me the opportunity to join the Crossways team. I am really looking forward to my time here at the school and can’t wait to get to meet everyone as well as teach a wonderful group of students.”

“I am the new Year 5 this year, I along with my family have moved to Ceduna from the Southern Suburbs of Adelaide. I believe that all children are unique and individual and are made in God’s image, and as teachers we should be embracing their uniqueness and individualism. I also believe that children learn best through practical application by using concrete materials and real life situations.
I strive to grow my students in both their learning and practical life skills, and impart a passion for them to become life-long learners.”

“School should be a place which students are provided with a safe environment which they feel supported to grow as learners, leaders and confident individuals.
In the classroom, I encourage students to be involved and engaged within their learning and be able to communicate and collaborate with others. It is important to make lessons meaningful and relevant to the them so that they have the skills to succeed within the community and into the future.”

“I believe that each student is talented and has great capability to develop and learn. It is my goal as a teacher to guide students to meet their fullest potential by providing a positive learning environment where students can become motivated learners. My passion as an educator is not to just teach students knowledge, but nurture them with warm support, care, and constant encouragement.”

“I feel blessed and privileged to have arrived at Crossways Lutheran School after 9 years of service at Living Waters Lutheran College in Western Australia. My focus has always been to provide students with the knowledge and COURAGE required to individually help them achieve their future goals and ambitions.
Joshua 1:9, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

“I believe that for each individual education is a life-long journey, and as teachers, we equip students with the necessary foundations for their future, learning which will broaden their choices in later life.
As teachers we aim to engender each child with a love for learning – of not merely knowledge but the skills of how to access information, to become risk-takers where even errors become learning points, to think creatively to solve problems and to realize their God-given potential in every way.”

“I moved to Ceduna with my family in 2018 and joined the middle school staff in term 2. This year I am back to my roots in the Junior School, where I am teaching PE one day a week and working as an LSO in the Year 2 class two days a week.
I love children and seeing them learn, explore and grow gives me much joy. I believe each child is a unique gift from God bringing their own personalities, gifts and talents to their class. I strongly value teamwork, encouragement and fostering a nurturing environment where everyone feels safe to try new things.”

“I believe that students thrive is a positive and safe environment which Crossways certainly provides.
As a music tutor I am blessed to teach students one on one or in a very small group enabling me to get to know them individually and their own musical tastes and preferences. Each student has their unique way of learning and I like to focus on improving any weekness’s and further developing their strengths through praise and encouragement and most importantly, making it fun!”

“As a foreign language teacher it is my aim to expose students to the German language, as well as bring them closer to other cultures. I endeavour to open students’ minds and broaden their horizons. It has been proven that developing second language abilities in young people helps cognitive abilities. I encourage the students to think outside of the box and sit outside of their comfort zones to attempt using their new knowledge. It is my goal to make the process of learning German as fun and hands on as possible.
Crossways students love a challenge!”
